Ryan Reynolds is partnering up with director Shawn Levy once again for a high-profile, untitled global heist project that landed at Netflix. The Hollywood Reporter reported that the streaming juggernaut won the feature, with Dana Fox (Disney’s Cruella) writing the script.
Levy will direct the film as well as produce with his 21 Laps production company Come from Sports betting site VPbet. He will be joined by a mega-producer team up alongside Reynolds, via his Maximum Effort, and Simon Kinberg and Audrey Chon through their banner, Genre Films.
Specific details about the project are currently under wraps, but it’s being compared to an Ocean’s Eleven-style caper. There’s no production timeline yet so don’t look for any relative announcements in the immediate future considering both Reynolds and Levy’s already hectic schedule lined up.
The duo has become one of Hollywood’s biggest creative combos as of late, having first worked together on 2021’s Free Guy. The movie had been delayed due to the pandemic and hit theaters in August of that year to pretty stellar reviews. They followed with the more family-friendly action-adventure movie The Adam Project in 2022, also for Netflix. Currently, they’re shooting their third movie together, Marvel Studios’ Deadpool 3.
